The mechanical parts that exist internally and externally are the certain, or known, parts. The organic parts that exist within us and outside of us are the uncertain, or unknown, parts. The organic parts are unique to every individual and the attribute of uncertainty is what allows us to change in ways that we desire.
For example, the left brain part of our system is based in logic, or characteristics of certainty. The right brain is responsible for our unique emotions, or characteristics of uncertainty. These concepts are interchangeable and reminiscent of the ancient chinese philosophy of achieving balance. We have both of these parts within us and rely on the balance of uncertainty and certainty, the known and unknown, the mechanical and the organic. You cannot have one without the other as they each, mutually consume one another.
In what ways do you see both mechanical and organic characteristics in one thing? What are some examples that show we need both in order to thrive?
